So, The Times and Sunday Times have revealed one of our secret beaches and it is indeed a real gem. Sitting below the Seven Sisters cliffs there is undeniable majesty at Birling Gap, plus rock pools, clean sea and even occasional surf, not to forget the National Trust cafe (with great sausage rolls!).
You’re spoilt for choice in and around Eastbourne – there is the classic Eastbourne Pier spot with the promenade, but we each have our local favourites in our office – Beth enjoys the Sovereign Harbour north shore, Sarah hankers after the big skies at Pevensey Bay and office dog Madge can’t get enough of the exposed sand at Holywell at low tide. Cuckmere Haven, meanwhile, is a favourite for film crews with it featuring regularly in cinemas and TV shows.
